Equipment records let Load Manager identify the trucks, trailers, and other equipment used by your company, carriers, drivers, loads, reports, and load board workflows. Keep this list clean so users can select the right equipment and so load board postings use the correct equipment information.
Screen cue: the Equipment submenu opens the list of equipment types available for carriers, drivers, and loads.
The equipment list includes searchable equipment records. Depending on your company setup, the list can show columns such as Equipment Code, Name, Length, Unit, Status, and load board code columns.
Screen cue: use Add New to create or update equipment type details and load board codes.
If another user is editing the same equipment record, Load Manager can lock the record until that user is finished. An administrator with the correct permission can unlock the record when needed.
Use the Active field to control whether an equipment record should remain available for day-to-day selection. Set equipment to InActive when it should stay in history but should not be treated as current equipment.
When the equipment type is Truck, the form can show a related trailer selection. When the equipment type is Trailer, the form can show a related truck selection. Use this when your workflow needs to associate a truck and trailer record.
For freight broker or carrier workflows, the equipment list can show load board code columns such as 123LoadBoard Code, DirectFreight Code, LoadBoard Network Code, DAT Load Board Code, and ITS Code. These values help Load Manager match equipment to the codes required by external load boards.
If a load board posting fails because of an equipment code, review the equipment record and the related load board code article for that board.
The Equipment screen includes an Import Via CSV option and a sample equipment import file. Use the sample file when adding multiple equipment records at once.
