Use Carrier Lane Search to Find Carriers for a Load

Carrier Lane Search helps you find carriers in your network that have already run similar lanes. Load Manager uses saved load history and carrier equipment information so your team can make faster carrier-selection decisions on repeat lanes.

Before You Start

  • Carrier profiles should be saved in the Carrier tab.
  • Equipment types should be added and assigned to carriers when available.
  • Carrier Lane Status should be set in Settings > Configuration Options. Loads that reach that status are used for carrier lane history.

Set the Carrier Lane Status

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration Options.
  2. Find Carrier Lane Status.
  3. Select the load status that should count toward carrier lane history, such as Delivered or Completed.
  4. Select Save.

Add Equipment to Carrier Profiles

  1. Go to the Carrier tab.
  2. Open the carrier profile.
  3. Find the Carrier Equipment section.
  4. Select the equipment type the carrier runs.
  5. Use Add New Row if the carrier runs more than one equipment type.
  6. Select the default equipment type if one should be used automatically.
  7. Select Save or Save & Exit.

Use Carrier Lane Search on a Load

  1. Open or create the load.
  2. Review the origin, destination, pickup date, delivery date, and equipment type.
  3. Go to the carrier section of the load.
  4. Select the Carrier Search tab. This tab appears when a carrier has not yet been assigned to the load.
  5. Review the carriers returned by the search.
  6. Select a carrier from the results, or email load details to selected carriers when that option is available.
  7. Save the load after assigning the carrier.

How Results Are Calculated

Carrier Lane Search depends on your saved load history. A carrier is more likely to appear when your system has prior loads for that carrier on a similar origin and destination lane, and when those loads reached the status selected in Carrier Lane Status.

Troubleshooting

  • No carriers appear: Confirm the load has origin and destination information, then confirm prior loads reached the status selected in Carrier Lane Status.
  • The Carrier Search tab is missing: Confirm a carrier has not already been assigned to the load.
  • Equipment filtering looks incomplete: Confirm equipment types are set up and saved on carrier profiles.
  • Results look old or incomplete: Carrier Lane Search depends on saved load history in your Load Manager account.
