How to setup for GMail hosted emails in Load Manager TMS

This procedure show you how to create a GMail App password for you gmail hosted account. This is a requirement to get your gmail hosting email working with Load Manager TMS


1) Log into your Google Account. Click Security on the left panel.

2) a) Scroll down to the "Signing in with Google" section.  (It may say ways you sign in to Google or something similar)

2) b) Make sure 2 Step Verification is turned on as shown in the screen shot below. If it is not, click on the arrow (>) to start the setup process.  Press the "Start" button and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.  You may be asked to enter in your email password, or verify your idenity by entering a code sent to your phone.  Turning on To Step Verification makes your account more secure.  Once complete go back to the Security page and you will see that it is turned on. 


 



3) Once 2 Step Verification is turn on, Click on the arrow (>) button to go to the 2 Step Verfication page.  Scroll down till you see the "App Password" option.  It is normally the last option on the 2 Step Verification page.  (If 2 Step Verification is not on, this option will not show)  Click on this option th App Password creation screen.


 



4) Click the Select App option as shown below.
  If you do not see App Password, you can search "app password' in the "search google account" search bar located at the top of the page.  

5) Choose "Other (Custom name)" as shown below.

6) When prompted enter Load Manager TMS and click Generate as shown below.

 

7) Copy down the password as shown on your screen. It should look something like the screen shot below.  Please note there are NO SPACES in the password (ignore the gaps shown).  It will always be a 16 letter or number password with no spaces.

 



8) In Load Manager, click on the USERS menu, then click on your user. Enter the password you just copied down into the SMTP password as shown below.  Make sure your email address is entered in the Email and SMTP user name as shown.  SMTP Server Address is smtp.gmail.com SMTP Port should be 465, SSL is checked. Lastly click the "Verify SMTP Settings" check box. then click Save as shown below.


Note that if you use the "copy" function to copy the password, you may see spaces when you "paste" the password into Load Manager. You will need to remove these spaces.  There will never be any spaces in the SMTP password. If these spaces are not removed, the SMTP settings will not be verified. 



9) You should get a message that says "The SMTP settings are valid, " if you see "the SMTP settings are not valid," please review the email settings and try again.
