- Access needed: Load Manager login and permission to use this screen, report, setting, or workflow.
- Use this article when: you are creating, updating, dispatching, documenting, importing, exporting, or tracking a load in Load Manager.
- Use a different article when: you need the company-specific dispatch document instead; brokers should use Rate Confirmation Layout and Features, dispatch services should use Dispatch Report Overview for Dispatch Services, and trucking companies should use Dispatch Report Overview for Carriers and Trucking Companies. For full setup order, start with Freight Brokers, Carriers, Owner-Operators, and Trucking Companies, or Dispatch Services.
Use these equipment codes when you add or update equipment types in Load Manager for DirectFreight posting.
To add a new equipment type, go to Carriers > Equipment > Add New.

- HS: Hotshot
- V+V: Van Vented
- V+A: Van Airride
- F+S: Flat Sides
- TNK: Tanker
- CONT: Container
- PNEU: Pneumatic
- CV: Curtain Van
- F+T: Flat Tarp
- PO: Power Only
- LA: Landoll
- DT: Dump Trailer
- CRG: Cargo Van
- MX: Maxi Flat
- AC: Auto Carrier
- DD: Double Drop
- HB: Hopper Bottom
- VINT: Van - Intermodal
- FINT: Flat - Intermodal
- RINT: Reefer - Intermodal
- SD: Step Deck / Single Drop
- RGN: Removable Gooseneck
Combine Equipment Codes
To create an equipment type that combines multiple DirectFreight equipment codes, separate the codes with a slash (/).
- For Van or Reefer, enter V/R.
- For Van - Intermodal, Flat - Intermodal, or Maxi Flat, enter MX/VINT/FINT.
DirectFreight is separate from Load Manager. This code list is for reference only. Confirm current code requirements with DirectFreight when needed.
