Check EDI 214 Location Update Compliance in Logs

Use the EDI 214 Location Updates log to review shipment update activity for EDI-enabled loads. This is helpful when a customer requires EDI 214 updates and you need to confirm whether updates are being recorded for a load.

  2. Go to Logs.
  3. Hover over or open EDI Log.
  4. Select Location Updates.

The Location Updates screen is the EDI 214 compliance view. It shows update activity by load so you can review whether location updates are flowing as expected.

What the Columns Mean

  • Load #: The Load Manager load number.
  • BOL #: The bill of lading number tied to the load.
  • Updates: The number of EDI 214 updates recorded for the load during the tracking window.
  • KPI: A ratio that helps show update frequency for the load.
  • Customer: The customer connected to the load.
  • Carrier / Driver / Driver Cell: The assigned carrier and driver information available for the load.
  • Date / Time: The date and time tied to the log row.

How the KPI Is Calculated

The KPI compares the number of updates with the tracking time window. In general, Load Manager divides the number of updates by the number of hours between pickup and delivery. If GPS data begins before pickup, the tracking window can begin earlier.

For example, if a load has 0 updates across a 2.2 hour tracking window, the KPI is 0.00.

Review a Load With a Low KPI

Screen cue: the Logs area helps confirm whether expected load updates were recorded.

  1. Open Logs > EDI Log > Location Updates.
  2. Search for the load number, BOL number, customer, carrier, or driver.
  3. Review the Updates and KPI columns.
  4. If the KPI is low or the row shows no updates, confirm whether the load had active tracking data during the pickup-to-delivery window.
  5. If the result still looks incorrect, contact Load Manager Support with the load number, BOL number, customer, and what you expected to see.

When to Contact Support

Contact Load Manager Support if the customer is EDI-enabled, the load should have sent EDI 214 updates, and the Location Updates log does not show the expected activity.

Send the load number, BOL number, customer name, carrier or driver details, and the approximate time the updates should have been generated. This helps support review the EDI activity more quickly.
