Load Manager can post available loads to the DAT Load Board after DAT credentials are saved on the posting user's Load Manager profile. This article explains how to set up the DAT connection, post a load, include a carrier rate when needed, and resolve the most common posting errors.
Before You Begin
- You need an active DAT account that is enabled for TMS or API posting.
- The Load Manager user who posts loads must have DAT credentials saved on their user profile.
- The load must have the required posting details, including pickup date, origin, destination, equipment, and weight.
- The equipment type on the load must match a valid DAT equipment code.
Set Up DAT Credentials for a User

Screen cue: enter DAT credentials under the user or setup area before posting loads.
DAT setup is saved by user. Repeat these steps for each Load Manager user who needs to post loads to DAT.
- Go to the Users tab.
- Open the user profile for the person who will post loads to DAT.
- Scroll to the load board integration section.
- Check DAT Load Board.
- Enter the Service account username.
- Enter the Service account password.
- Enter the Individual username.
- Optional: check Default Posting if DAT should be selected by default when this user posts loads.
- Click Save or Save & Exit.
If Default Posting is disabled, confirm that DAT Load Board is checked and all three DAT credential fields are filled in.
Post a Load to DAT

Screen cue: review the saved load before selecting any load board posting option.
After the user's DAT credentials are saved, loads can be posted from the load list actions on the All Loads or My Loads screen.
- Go to All Loads or My Loads.
- Select the checkbox for the load you want to post.
- Check Post DAT Load Board.
- If needed, enter or update the Pickup Date.
- Optional: check Include Carrier Rate if the carrier rate should be included with the DAT posting.
- Click Update Loads.
- Review the DAT response message that appears after posting.
Post to Multiple Load Boards
If the load should be posted to every configured load board, use Post to All Load Boards. This selects the available load board posting options, including DAT, for the selected load or loads.
Use Include Carrier Rate only when the carrier rate should be included in the posting. This option becomes available after at least one load board posting option is selected.
Update or Remove a DAT Posting
If a load has already been posted to DAT, posting it again from Load Manager updates the existing DAT posting when the load still has a DAT posting ID. If the DAT posting needs to be removed, use the load board controls to remove the DAT posting and confirm that Load Manager returns a successful DAT delete message.
What Load Manager Sends to DAT
Load Manager builds the DAT posting from the load details saved in Load Manager. The posting can include:
- Load reference
- Equipment type
- Full or partial load setting
- Length and weight
- Pickup availability date
- Origin city and state
- Destination city and state
- Load notes or comments, when entered
- Carrier rate, when Include Carrier Rate is selected
Troubleshooting DAT Posting Errors
- Invalid authorization: Check the user's DAT Service account username, Service account password, and Individual username. Also confirm the DAT account is enabled for TMS or API posting.
- Invalid Equipment Code: Select an equipment type that has a valid DAT equipment code.
- Invalid Pickup date: Enter a pickup date on the load before posting.
- Integration is temporarily stopped: DAT posting is paused in the Load Manager API settings. Try again later or contact Load Manager Support if the message continues.
- Slow network connection or Connection failure: Wait a few minutes and try the posting again.
- Include Carrier Rate is disabled: Select at least one load board posting option first.
