MacroPoint is an optional load tracking integration that lets Load Manager send tracking requests through Descartes MacroPoint. Use this setup article when your company has purchased or activated MacroPoint and needs to save the integration settings in Load Manager.
Before you start: MacroPoint must be enabled for your account. Applies to Freight Broker and Dispatch Service accounts.
Before You Start
- You must have an active MacroPoint account or MacroPoint integration order.
- You need your MacroPoint ID, API login, and API password.
- You need access to Settings > Configuration Options in Load Manager.
- Load Manager Support may need to complete backend activation after your credentials are entered.
If you do not already have MacroPoint, you can review the Load Manager add-on page here: MacroPoint Integration for Freight Brokers.
Enter the MacroPoint Settings
- In Load Manager, go to Settings > Configuration Options.
- Scroll to Mobile Dispatch Settings.
- For Mobile App Type, choose the option your company uses:
- Web App with MacroPoint if you use the web dispatch workflow and MacroPoint tracking together.
- Macro Point only if you only want to send MacroPoint tracking requests.
- Enter the MacroPoint ID.
- Enter the MacroPoint API Login.
- Enter the MacroPoint API Password.
- Turn on Trip Event Updates or Order Status Updates if your MacroPoint setup uses those updates.
- Click Save.

Tell Support When the Credentials Are Saved
After you save the MacroPoint settings, contact Load Manager Support so the activation can be reviewed and completed. Include your company name and let Support know that the MacroPoint credentials have been entered in Load Manager.
Do not send your MacroPoint API password by email unless Support specifically asks you to use a secure method.
What the Mobile App Type Changes

| Web App with MacroPoint |
Your company sends web dispatch links and also uses MacroPoint tracking. |
| Macro Point only |
Your company only sends MacroPoint tracking requests from Load Manager. |
| Trucker Tools |
Your company uses Trucker Tools instead of MacroPoint for that dispatch workflow. |
Load Information Needed for MacroPoint Tracking
When Load Manager sends a MacroPoint tracking order, the load needs enough information for MacroPoint to create the trip. Before sending the tracking request, review the load for:
- A carrier or driver assigned to the load.
- A valid driver cell phone number.
- Pickup and delivery stops with address, city, state, and ZIP/postal code.
- Stop dates.
- A delivery date and appointment time for the last stop.
- Appointment times entered in a standard time format, such as 08:00 or 16:00.
- Valid time zone abbreviations if your workflow uses stop time zones.
How to Confirm the Setup Is Working
- Open a test load that has complete stop information and a valid driver cell number.
- Send the MacroPoint tracking request from the load screen.
- Confirm that the request sends without a credentials or missing-field message.
- Ask the driver to accept the MacroPoint tracking request when they receive it.
- Review the load for MacroPoint tracking status or location updates after the driver accepts.
Troubleshooting
- If you see a credentials message, confirm the MacroPoint ID, API login, and API password were entered and saved correctly.
- If Load Manager highlights a stop field, update the missing or invalid stop information and send the request again.
- If the driver does not receive the tracking request, confirm the driver cell number.
- If tracking does not begin, confirm the driver accepted the MacroPoint request.
- If the integration still does not work after these checks, contact Load Manager Support.
