Use the Carrier Information page to track trucks, trailers, equipment, and driver contacts for an outside carrier. This is useful when your company works with carriers and wants to save commonly used equipment or driver details on the carrier profile.
Before you start: Applies to freight broker and dispatch service accounts that manage outside carriers.
This article applies to accounts that use the Carrier tab. Freight Brokers and Dispatch Services use carrier profiles for outside carriers. Carrier or trucking company accounts usually manage their own drivers from the Driver tab instead.
Click Add New Row to add another line for a truck, trailer, driver, or equipment assignment. You can add as many rows as needed for the carrier.
Use the Truck field to select an existing truck or enter a new truck, van, tractor, or other equipment item.
If you type a truck or equipment name that is not already in the equipment list, Load Manager prompts you to create it.
Equipment codes and names are up to your company. Use names that your team will recognize, such as a unit number, tractor number, or driver/equipment nickname.
Use the Trailer field to assign a trailer to the same row as the truck or driver. If the trailer is not already available, add it from the equipment area before selecting it on the carrier profile.
Use the Driver field to assign a driver contact to the equipment row. You can select an existing driver contact from the carrier's contacts, or type a new driver name.
If you type a driver who is not already on the carrier profile, Load Manager prompts you to create the driver contact.
After adding or updating the carrier's equipment and driver contact details, click Save or Save and Exit at the top of the Carrier Information page.
Carrier profile equipment and driver contact details help your team keep carrier information organized. On the load screen, you can still review or enter driver, truck, trailer, container, equipment, and temperature details for the specific load.
