How to Use uShip Quotes in Load Manager TMS

How to Use uShip Quotes in Load Manager TMS

uShip integration allows you to request LTL freight quotes directly from Load Manager TMS.

You can request a quote in two ways:

  1. Quick Quotes — use this when you want to get a fast LTL quote without building a full load first.

  2. LTL Quotes on the Load Screen — use this when you are building a load and want to request a uShip quote from that load.

Before using uShip quotes, your company must already be set up with both uShip and Load Manager.

Before You Start

Before using uShip quotes in Load Manager TMS, please make sure your uShip profile is fully set up in your uShip portal.

This includes your required account details and payment information type.

If you need help completing your uShip profile or payment setup, please contact uShip support directly. Load Manager support can help with the Load Manager side of the integration, but uShip account and payment setup must be completed through uShip.

How to Use Quick Quotes

Use Quick Quotes when you want to get a quick LTL quote without entering a full load first.

Steps to Use Quick Quotes

  1. Open Quick Quotes.

  2. Enter the pickup ZIP code.

  3. Enter the delivery ZIP code.

  4. Enter the pickup date.

  5. Checkmark Less than truck load

  6. Enter the commodity or freight details.

  7. Choose your LTL Pickup Options and LTL Delivery Options, if needed.

  8. Click Get Rates.

  9. Review the available uShip quote options.

Pro Tip

You can click Set as Default for your pickup and delivery options. This allows your selections to be saved and automatically populated in the future.

You can update or change these defaults at any time.

How to Use uShip Quotes When Building a Load

Use this option when you are creating a load and want to get a uShip LTL quote from the Load Screen.

Things to Know Before Building the Load

Before requesting a uShip quote from the Load Screen, make sure the required load information and setup fields are completed.

If required information is missing, uShip may not be able to provide a quote and you may receive an error message.

Step 1: Enter the Load Information

Create the load as normal.

Make sure the pickup information is entered, including:

  • Pickup location

  • Pickup address

  • Pickup contact name

  • Pickup date and time

Make sure the delivery information is entered, including:

  • Delivery location

  • Delivery address

  • Delivery contact name

Step 2: Confirm the Commodity Information

In the Commodities and Accessorials table, confirm the commodity information is complete.

Make sure the following items are entered:

  • Commodity type selected

  • Description entered

  • Weight entered

  • Dimensions entered, if required

  • Pallet, crate, or packaging details entered, if required

  • Unit type selected for the commodity

Step 3: Click Save

Click Save to update the load details for your quote.

This is important because uShip needs the saved load information before it can return accurate LTL rates.

Step 4: Confirm LTL settings

The following information is needed.  You can do this after building the load.

  • The pickup location has an LTL Type selected.

  • The delivery location has an LTL Type selected.

  • Each commodity type has a unit type selected.

These setup items usually only need to be completed once for each location or commodity.  See below for details on how to make these selections if needed.

Step 5: Get the uShip LTL Quote

After the load is saved:

  1. Go to the Carrier section on the Load Screen.

  2. Click LTL Quotes.

  3. Select your LTL Pickup Options or LTL Delivery Options, if needed.

  4. Click Get Rates.

From the Customers Tab

You can also access the location page by going to the Customers tab at the top of your screen.

From there, choose the customer and select the correct location name from the customer’s stops or location list.

How to Set the Unit Type for a Commodity

Each commodity must have a unit type selected.

This only needs to be done once for each commodity.

From the Load Screen

  1. Go to the Commodities and Accessorials section.

  2. Click the type hyperlink for the commodity.

  3. Find the Unit Type drop-down list.

  4. Select the correct unit type.
