Settings >> User Roles: Optional Permissions and Access Restrictions

Use this article to set up User Roles and understand the optional permissions and access restrictions available under Settings >> User Roles. These settings control what each role can see, edit, unlock, or access in Load Manager.

Open User Roles

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click User Roles.
  3. Select the role you want to review or update.

Update Role Permissions

The Permissions tab controls menu access, record access, finance visibility, editing rights, and other optional restrictions for the selected role.

  1. Select the role you want to change.
  2. Check a permission to turn it on for that role.
  3. Uncheck a permission to turn it off for that role.
  4. Your changes save automatically.

Update Load Status Editing Rights

The Load Status tab controls which load statuses users in the selected role can edit.

  • If a load status is checked, users in that role can edit loads in that status, subject to the other permissions listed below.
  • If a load status is unchecked, users in that role see loads in that status as view-only and Load Manager displays View only, Edit not allowed.

Carrier Permissions

1005Carrier EditAllows the role to change an inactive carrier to active. This can override the onboarding workflow when the company uses the setting that keeps carriers inactive until onboarding is complete.

1020Carrier SettingsAllows the role to verify carrier onboarding documents.
1021Carrier SettingsAllows the role to remove the Verified By check from carrier onboarding documents.

Customer Permissions

Load Permissions

5004Load EditAllows the role to edit only user-defined fields on a load.
5005Load EditWhen a load is in view-only mode because it reached the lock status, allows the role to edit the load except for date fields.
5006Load EditWhen a load is in view-only mode, allows the role to edit Order Date, Invoice Date, Pickup Date, and Delivery Date.
5007Load FinanceHides customer pricing and load profit on the Load screen. The role also does not have report access from this permission.
5008Load FinanceHides the load totals box that includes customer totals, carrier totals, miles charges, direct costs, and profit.
5009Load EditPrevents the role from editing customer rates or carrier/driver rates on a load.
5010Load EditAllows the role to edit a load after the load has reached the lock load status.
5011Load Record LockAllows the role to unlock a locked load.
5012Load EditAllows the role to change the load status even when the load is in view-only mode.
5013Load EditRequires the load status permission under Settings >> User Roles >> Load Status before the role can edit a load.
5014Load FinanceHides carrier pricing and load profit on the Load screen. The role also does not have report access from this permission.
5015Load EditWhen a load is in view-only mode, allows the role to edit the Customer Paid and Carrier Paid checkboxes.

5017Load EditAllows the role to set a maximum carrier rate for carrier flat rate, miles rate, and accessorial rate so other users cannot increase those amounts.

5020Load EditAllows the role to view loads and customers from all offices. If unchecked, the role is limited to loads and customers assigned to the user's office.
5021Load FinanceAllows the role to change Carrier Paid and Customer Paid checkmarks on the Load screen.
5023Load EditWhen a load is in view-only mode, allows the role to edit load notepad fields, including public notes, internal dispatch notes, rate confirmation notes, invoice comments, dispatch notes, and internal notes.
5030Load AccountingAllows the role to access QuickBooks Export.
5031Load AccountingAllows the role to access Accounting.
5032Load FinancePrevents the role from booking a customer that has exceeded its credit limit.

Report Permissions
