Set a Driver Mobile App Password
Set a Driver Mobile App Password
Before You Use This Article
Use this article when a driver needs a password to access mobile or web dispatch details sent from Load Manager. The password is saved on the carrier or driver profile, depending on your TMS type.
This is not the same as a Load Manager user login password. It is used for driver-facing mobile dispatch access.
Which Profile Should I Update?
| TMS Type |
Where to Set the Password |
Why |
| Freight Broker |
Carriers tab > Carrier profile |
Freight Broker accounts assign outside carriers to loads. The driver may be stored as a carrier contact, but the mobile app password is set on the carrier profile. |
| Dispatch Service |
Carriers tab > Carrier profile |
Dispatch Service accounts also use carrier profiles for the carriers they dispatch for. |
| Carrier or Trucking Company |
Driver tab > Driver profile |
Carrier/Trucking accounts do not use the Carrier tab for their own drivers. They save drivers in the Driver tab. |
Before You Start
- Confirm the driver or carrier profile already exists.
- Confirm the profile is the same one selected on the load.
- Confirm Mobile Dispatch or Driver Web App is enabled for your account if you plan to send dispatch links.
- Choose a password you can safely share with the driver.
Set the Password for an Outside Carrier
Use this workflow for Freight Broker and Dispatch Service accounts.
- Go to the Carriers tab.
- Open the carrier profile used on the load.
- Find the Mobile App Password field.
- Enter the password the driver should use.
- Click Save or Save & Exit.
- Share the password with the driver using your company's normal secure process.
Set the Password for an In-House Driver
Use this workflow for Carrier/Trucking accounts.
- Go to the Driver tab.
- Open the driver profile used on the load.
- Find the Mobile App Password field.
- Enter the password the driver should use.
- Click Save or Save & Exit.
- Share the password with the driver using your company's normal secure process.
Send the Mobile Dispatch
After the password is saved, send the mobile dispatch from the load. The driver opens the mobile dispatch link from their phone and enters the requested access information before viewing the dispatch details.

Review Mobile Dispatch Settings
If mobile dispatch is not available, review your Mobile Dispatch settings.
- Go to Settings > Configuration Options.
- Find the Mobile Dispatch or Mobile App Type settings.
- Confirm the option your company uses is enabled.
- Click Save after making any changes.

Troubleshooting
- The driver does not know the password: Open the correct carrier or driver profile, update the Mobile App Password, save the profile, and share the current password with the driver.
- The password was added to the wrong record: Confirm which carrier or driver is assigned to the load, then update that same profile.
- A Carrier/Trucking user cannot find the Carrier tab: Carrier/Trucking accounts use the Driver tab instead.
- A Freight Broker or Dispatch Service user cannot find the Driver tab: Use the Carriers tab for outside carriers and carrier drivers.
- The mobile dispatch option is missing: Review Settings > Configuration Options and confirm the Mobile Dispatch option is enabled for your workflow.
Best Practices
- Use a password that is easy for the assigned driver to enter but not easy for others to guess.
- Update the password when driver access should change.
- Do not reuse one shared password for every carrier or driver if your company wants tighter access control.
- Keep the carrier-vs-driver profile distinction clear when training your team.
