Why is My Driver's GPS Location Not Tracking?

Check GPS Status in Load Manager TMS

  1. Go to All Loads>>GPS Tracking

    • Switch to the "Load List" tab: Location tracking status will show for all GPS dispatched loads.   Locate the load and review the GPS status for that load.
    • How to Fix It:
      • App Not Installed: Ask the driver go to the Apple or Google Play store to downlaod the mobile app or direct them to a text invite if applicable.
      • Tracking Paused:  Ask the driver to resume his location tracking. If he has not intentional paused his tracking check out the Common Reason and Solutons for GPS not Tracking.

Common Reasons and Solutions for GPS not Tracking

  1. Driver’s Mobile Device Location Services Are Turned Off

    • Why It Happens: Location tracking requires the driver's device to have location services enabled.
    • How to Fix It:
      • On the driver's device, go to Settings > Location and ensure it is turned on.
      • Set the location mode to High Accuracy (Android) or Precise Location (iOS).    
  2. The GPS App is Not Granted Location Permissions

    • Why It Happens: The app cannot access GPS data without proper permissions.
    • How to Fix It:
      • On the driver’s device, navigate to Settings > Apps.  Select the GPS app name (Example MacroPoint,  Locate My Freight, etc) from your app list. Then choose  Permissions.
      • Ensure Location Access is enabled for Always Allow or While Using the App.
  3. Device Connectivity Issues

    • Why It Happens: Poor internet or cellular network can disrupt GPS updates.
    • How to Fix It:
      • Confirm the driver has a stable data connection.
      • Test by opening a web page or sending a message to verify connectivity.

  1. Check Load Manager TMS - ALL LOADS>> GPS TRACKING>> LOAD LIST for the status of the driver's GPS tracking.
  2. Verify the driver’s device settings (Location Services and Permissions).
  3. Confirm the driver has a stable internet connection.
  4. Ensure the Load Manager Driver App is up to date.
  5. Check Load Manager account settings for GPS tracking.
