Connecting your Outlook email to Load Manager TMS

This articles shows you how to connect your outlook email, managed by Microsoft or GoDaddy to Load Manager TMS.  Doing this enable you to send emails from Load Manager TMS.

Perferred Setup

  1. Log in to Load Manager TMS
  2. Click on the User tab and click on the user profile's name to open the user information page
  3. In the user information page click on "Connect to Microsoft" and follow prompts to connect to your email.
  4. Click Save. 
This is the preferred method for connecting to Outlook email.  This includes email accounts hosted by Microsoft or GoDaddy.\


Alternative Setup for GoDaddy users



For Outlook users through GoDaddy you may need to complete these steps 


SMTP settings and Two Factor Authentication need to be turned on before completing the steps below. 

Create a two factor authentication: 

  1. Sign in to Outlook on the web with the credential for the email account you are working with. Enter a phone number for your authentication method, and then select Next.  Tip: if the phone number is shown, select the option to choose a different method.  Select the phone number from the options displayed on the dropdown list.   


    2.  You will receive at code to your phone.  Enter code and press Next.
  3. You will be asked to provide a second authentication method.  If email is not shown, select the option to choose a different method.  Select the email option from the options displayed on the dropdown list.  Enter an email for your authentication method then select Next

4. Your screen will look like then when complete. Select Done.

5. Sign Out. then Sign back in to the email account. Enter the verification code sent to your phone to prove you're authorized to access your email account. Then go to Additional security verification page, click on Add Sign-In Method
6. Select App Password from the drop down list.  

7) Enter in the Description as "Load Manager".  Click Next. An app password will be generated.  Click the copy icon circled in red below to copy the app password.

8. In Load Manager TMS.  Go to the User tab and open the user profile with the email address you are working with.   Paste the app password you copied into the field called "SMTP password".  

Alternative Setup for Microsoft hosted email accounts

HOW TO SET UP OUTLOOK 365 EMAIL 

Load Manager has powerful email tools that allow you to email Rate Cons, Invoices, and other documents with just a few clicks.  You must go through the one-time setup procedure before you can use these tools.  To setup your email:

  • Click the "Users" menu.
  • Click on your "Username" so you can enter your email information. 

Your User

These fields on the left, starting with Email*, must be filled out.

  • Email* –  your email address.
  • STMP Server address – the server your email uses to send email.  There is a list below of common SMTP servers for common email providers.  This can also be found using a simple google search.  Example: “what are Gmail STMP settings?”  A search like this should give you your SMTP server address and your SMTP port.
  • SMTP user name – your email address.
  • SMTP password – you will need to make sure 2 factor authentication is enabled. Then you will need to create an app password. Follow the instructions on this link to complete this step. 
  • SMTP port – this is either 465 or 587 depending on your email provider.
  • Use TLS or use SSL – your email uses either TLS or SSL email protocol.  You should be able to find the right choice with a Google search.

When you believe your settings are correct, you can click the “Verify SMTP settings” checkbox, and Save.  Load Manager will give you a message telling you if your settings are valid or not.  If they are valid, you are ready to email through Load Manager!

SMTP Settings:

  • SMTP Server Address: smtp.office365.com
    • SMTP User Name: (Enter your email address)
    • SMTP Password: Enter the app password that you created using the link above.
    • SMTP Port: 587
    • Encryption: TLS
