Set Up Trucker Tools Tracking in Load Manager
Set Up Trucker Tools Tracking in Load Manager
Before You Use This Article
Use this article when your company uses Trucker Tools for load tracking and needs to save the Trucker Tools account information in Load Manager. Trucker Tools is a third-party tracking option. Your Trucker Tools account and credentials are provided by Trucker Tools, then entered in Load Manager under the Mobile Dispatch settings.
Before You Start
- Confirm your company has an active Trucker Tools account or agreement.
- Ask Trucker Tools for the credentials needed for your Load Manager TMS connection.
- Have your TruckerTools PartnerID and TruckerTools AccountID ready.
- Make sure you have permission to access Settings > Configuration Options in Load Manager.
- Do not paste your live credentials into a public note or unsecured email thread.
You can learn more about Trucker Tools load tracking on the Trucker Tools website: Trucker Tools Load Tracking.
Enter the Trucker Tools Settings
- In Load Manager, go to Settings > Configuration Options.
- Scroll to Mobile Dispatch Settings.
- Under Mobile App Type, select Trucker Tools.
- Enter the TruckerTools PartnerID exactly as provided by Trucker Tools.
- Enter the TruckerTools AccountID exactly as provided by Trucker Tools.
- Review any default Mobile Dispatch email or text message settings your company uses.
- Click Save.

What This Setting Does
The Mobile App Type setting tells Load Manager which mobile dispatch or tracking option your company uses. When Trucker Tools is selected, Load Manager stores the Trucker Tools connection information for your company so Trucker Tools can be used as the tracking workflow.
This does not replace the need for a Trucker Tools account. Trucker Tools controls the driver app, ELD or telematics connection, and tracking behavior inside their platform.
Information to Review on Each Load
Before sending a load through a mobile dispatch or tracking workflow, review the load for complete and accurate information:
- The carrier, driver, or driver contact is assigned according to your TMS type.
- The driver cell phone number is entered if your workflow uses driver phone tracking or text-based tracking.
- Pickup and delivery stops have the correct name, address, city, state, and ZIP/postal code.
- Pickup and delivery dates are entered.
- Appointment times are entered in a clear format, such as 08:00 or 16:00, when your tracking workflow requires times.
- The load has been saved before you send dispatch or tracking information.
Role Notes
The setup path is the same for each TMS type, but the load assignment area may look different:
| TMS Type |
What to Confirm on the Load |
| Freight Broker |
Select the carrier on the load. If needed, enter the carrier driver as a carrier contact or driver detail. |
| Dispatch Service |
Select the carrier on the load and confirm the driver or carrier contact details used for dispatch. |
| Carrier or Trucking Company |
Select the driver from the Driver area of the load, since carrier accounts use a Driver tab instead of a Carrier tab. |
If Tracking Does Not Work
- Confirm Trucker Tools is selected under Settings > Configuration Options > Mobile Dispatch Settings.
- Confirm the TruckerTools PartnerID and TruckerTools AccountID were entered exactly as provided.
- Confirm the driver phone number or ELD/telematics details are correct in the Trucker Tools workflow.
- Confirm the load has complete pickup and delivery information.
- If the load information is complete but Trucker Tools is not creating or updating tracking, contact Trucker Tools or Load Manager Support with the load number and the time the tracking request was sent.
